AoE Usuals 2018

They've been a few small successful tournaments in AoE quite recently that have gone under the radar. I think it's about time that we branch out to AoCZone. I would like to ask if anyone was interested in participating in a $500 USD tournament for AoE1 that will also come with the accustomed Voobly badges and premium membership.

5 round single elimination tournament starting from the 21st of January with each round spanning over 1 week.
Each game will be played using these sets:
Map: Inland
Map Size: Large
Civilization: Free Pick
Population Limit: 200
Speed: 1.0
Reveal Map: Off
Full Tech. Tree: Off
Fixed Positions: On
Pathfinding: Medium - High

The requirements to entering the tournament are an installation of AoE & Voobly.
Time free to play to play a match every week for the next 5 weeks.
I would also like to mention that this is AoE without expansions so this does mean that there will none of the way of life features, units or civilizations present in RoR will be available in the tournament.

I would love to have an event calendar but am unsure how committed and organized the AoE1 community will be. Keep in mind we do not have a forum like AoCZone for AoE1 that players check frequently to arrange times and many AoE1 players have never been in a formal tournament before.

I would suggest following each of the channels I have listed and hoping you're on at the time they stream. I would really love to see an event Calender but don't think it will be possible at this stage.

Im not sure if I understoot you correctly, but I meant that when streamers decide that they are gonna stream a match, put it in the event calender on the front page of aoczone. Im sure lots of people used to play aoe and will watch for a bit!
I dont know how the event calender works (im not a streamer myself) and i dont know if aoe streamers are allowed to put their streams on it, but if so it will defnitly help getting some exposure

There isn't a way for the streamers to announce when they stream when some players don't arrange times, don't arrange times publicly, or arrange times on short notice.

Yeah, Large is the standard map size for 1v1.

No, unfortunately there isn't a way for players to set custom hotkeys. There quite similar to the original AoK hotkeys. You can view what the hotkeys are using this link http://www.voobly.com/forum/thread/213713

Glad you managed to find a work around. I didn't think that you could edit the hotkeys that way. You might need to test some games on Voobly to see how the client reacts to your modified game.
