Greetings from Philippe le Bon, who's been focussing on rl lately and lurks on AoC forums & streams now and then. He used to create really handy overviews of the balance changes and he decided to create an updated one for v7.0 and this event. Thanks for that, Don Filippo!

In my opinion, balance patch would still have some strong/weak civs on a certain map.
But the setting "free pick" only enable us to see the performance of strong civs on it.
We cannot check how the changes of moderate/weak civs work.
Settings are settings anyway, maybe some random and switch will improve this without losing fairness next time.

ref: in knockout stage, 16 Migration/LochNess games, Vikings was picked 24 times out of 32.
  on land maps, 33% civs have 80% picked time total, 10 civs were picked less than 3 times.
