How about introducing the ''+1'' button instead of the like/dislike? It gives an option to agree with someone's argument without quoting it and literally typing ''+1'' or ''agreed''. At the same time the post can't get disagrred or disliked but simply stays at 0 when none supports the point made. I think this is a nice way to avoid frustration from beeing disliked but to highligt the ides which find support.

Or essentially facebook. These buttons bury everything which is not in line with popular opinion.

If the comment section is ordered chronologically like in AoCZone I don't see how could that be bad for unpopular opinions.
On the other hand, if it's ordered by the number of likes then yeah it would be bad.

I might be missing something here, but what's the difference between a "+1" and a "like"?
There's no dislike button on AoEZone, only a like button.

I personally like the "like" button.
There's a whole bunch of posters whose posts I always enjoy reading ( (uk) Gary internet comes to mind).
Dropping them a like every now and then could give them the motivation to be active more often! :)

I don't see the difference either. There would only be a difference if a comment could actually get downvoted. Something I am not a fan of because I feel like that would happen to a lot of my posts xD

Do we need to have a like button? I really prefer a forum without like/dislike

I second that.

I three'end that

+4.

No, really. I think that such a system doesn't really add anything positive or useful to a discussion. If you want to voice agreement, do so with a post. I takes a little longer but is a lot more meaningful.

I prefer the live streams overview here since it lets me see with a quick glance how is online and who isn't.
On AoEZone i need to scroll a lot if I want to see all the channels.

You can have a "simple" streamlist. In your preferences check the "Simple stream list" option.

My aoc account is not found at aoezone - shall I just register it again there or will that cause any troubles to go for the same name?

What is the deadline for reposting? So posts made until when will move over?
