I live a modest life, approx $1100 USD/mo in living expenses. Throw the rest into investments and building a nest egg so I can retire when I'm 35.

i believe living modestly is key when you not a huge earner.forget about buying a flash house nice car and fancy clothes, you can be happily without. Also people get hammered by credit card debt trying to live lavishly,i dont even own a credit card.they are the devil.

i used to travel from cobram to melbourne(250 kms 1 way) for powerlifting comps for 36 bucks return and free train anywhere in Melbourne.Australian public transport is ridiculously cheap.you can walk/use train easily in big city Australia.Much prefered this method to driving in city.yes its slower than driving by car tho and scenery is dry and dull when passing thru the country.need music.

That's just fuel. No maintenance costs or the initial cost of buying a vehicle are included in that sum. Or taxes.

Not to mention you're literally wasting time when stuck in traffic. You can't do anything productive or fun while staring at someone else's taillights. Atleast you can get work done or watch some TV on the train.
Theres no way I'll ever commute by car, it's cancerous where I live.
And there's the environment ofcourse.

Public transport should never be that slow and expensive. That's a shame.
